Current Project:
· To develop the next generation single plant phenotyping platform with:
o Hyperspectral, 3D, Thermal, Fluorescent, etc.
o Smart robotic sensors arms for localized precise measurements
o Next generation plant image processing algorithms
o Super computing capability for big data modeling
· The goal is to push plant phenotyping activities to the next level for:
o Stress tolerance gene selection
o Best practice in plant protection
o Higher crop yield to meet world’s increasing food demand
o Improved food quality and nutrition

08/2015 - present: Assistant Professor, Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Purdue University
Research Area: Sensor/Imaging for Plant Phenotyping
06/2010 - 08/2015: Research Scientist / Technology Leader, Analytical-Genomics Technologies, DuPont Pioneer, Leading DuPont Pioneer’s Hyperspectral Imaging team for crop plant phenotyping.
